The free scan

The scan is free and needs no account. It fetches public files from the website you enter and checks them against published standards, and it may query public search ranking and page speed data for that site. You may scan your own sites, and public sites you have a legitimate reason to assess, such as a competitor or a client.

We may limit how many scans you run, refuse or stop any scan, or change or withdraw the scan at any time. A scanned site may block automated visitors, in which case the scan cannot read it.

Acceptable use

• Do not use the scan to probe private networks, overload a site, or get around a site’s access controls.
• Do not run scans by script or at volume, resell the results, or build a competing service from them.
• Do not submit someone else’s contact details in the report form.
• Do not interfere with the site, its security, or other visitors.

What the results are, and are not

The score, level, checks and suggested fixes are automated and informational. They describe what the scan found at that moment, against standards that are still changing. They are not a guarantee of how any search engine or AI assistant will treat a site, and not legal, security or professional advice. Check any change before you make it to a live site; the fix prompts and snippets are starting points.

Search footprint and page speed figures come from third-party data and are estimates.

Our content

The site, the scan, its checks, wording and design belong to Byteable. You may share your results page and quote your own results. The sample report and the illustrative examples describe a fictional business; any resemblance to a real business is unintended.

ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot, LinkedIn and Google are trademarks of their owners. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by them.

Other sites

The site links to other sites, including the standards each check is based on and our booking page. We are not responsible for their content or practices.

No warranty

The free scan and this site are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement, to the fullest extent the law allows.

Limits on liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Byteable is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or lost profits, revenue or data, arising from your use of the free site or scan. Our total liability for any claim about the free site or scan is limited to one hundred US dollars ($100).

You agree to indemnify Byteable against claims arising from your misuse of the scan, such as scanning a site in breach of these terms.

Changes, law and contact

We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version, and continuing to use the site means you accept it. These terms are governed by the laws of the state in which Byteable AI Inc. is incorporated, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. [Counsel to confirm governing law and venue.]
