LegalPrivacy Policy
Last updated November 4, 2026
This policy covers byteable.ai/aeo: the free AI Readiness Scan, the sample report, and the AEO Visibility Engine and AEO Content Engine pages. It is run by Byteable AI Inc. (“Byteable”, “we”). The rest of byteable.ai is covered by the byteable.ai privacy policy.
The short version
- You can scan a website without giving us your name or email.
- We record every address that is scanned, with its results, so we can improve the scan and understand who uses it.
- If you ask for a copy of the report by email, we keep your name, email, phone and business, and we may contact you once about our services.
- We do not sell personal information.
When you run a scan
When you enter a website address, we store the address as entered, the address the site finally answered from, the type of site you chose, the score, level and the result of each check, the time of the scan, your browser’s user agent and the page that referred you. We store a one-way hash of your IP address instead of the address itself, so repeat scans can be counted and abuse limited.
To run the scan we fetch public files from the site you entered, such as its home page, robots.txt, sitemap and llms.txt, the same way a search engine does. We never log in, submit forms or send credentials. We also ask Google PageSpeed Insights to measure the page, and our search data provider for the domain’s public search rankings.
Results pages can be shared by link. Anyone with the link can run the scan again and see the current results for that public website.
When you ask for the report by email
The report form asks for your name, email address and phone number, and optionally your business name. We use them to email you the report, to record you as a lead, and to let our team know, so a person can follow up once if the report suggests we can help. We link the request to the scan it came from.
If you do not want to be contacted, say so when you reply to the email or write to hello@byteable.ai, and we will not contact you again about our services.
Analytics and cookies
We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used: which pages are read, whether a scan finished, and whether someone clicked to book a meeting. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser. You can block or delete them in your browser settings, or use Google’s opt-out add-on, and the site keeps working. The scan itself sets no cookies.
[Counsel to confirm: whether a cookie banner or consent mode is required for the audiences this campaign will reach.]
Who processes data for us
These companies process data on our behalf, only to provide the service described:
| Who | What for | What they receive |
|---|---|---|
| Vercel | Hosts this site and runs the scan. | Technical data about each request: IP address, browser, the page or address requested. |
| Neon | Stores scan records and report requests. | The address you scanned, its results, and anything you type into the report form. |
| Resend | Sends the report email and alerts our team. | Your name, email address and the report contents. |
| Google Analytics | Measures how the site is used. | Pages viewed, device and browser, approximate location, how you arrived. Uses cookies. |
| Google PageSpeed Insights | Measures how fast the scanned page loads on a phone. | The public address being scanned. No personal data. |
| Our search data provider | Supplies the search footprint for the scanned domain. | The domain being scanned. No personal data. |
| Apollo | Our sales records, when you ask for a report. | Your name, email, phone and business, if you give them. |
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a sale or reorganization of our business.
How we use it
- To run the scan and show and email you the results.
- To improve the scan: which checks fail most, which sites it cannot read, and where it is slow.
- To understand demand for our services and follow up with people who ask for a report.
- To prevent abuse, such as automated scanning at volume.
How long we keep it
Scan records are kept for [24 months] and then deleted or anonymized. Report requests and lead records are kept while we have a business relationship or for [36 months] after our last contact, whichever is longer. Cached scan, speed and search data is held for up to 24 hours.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or ask us to stop contacting you. Write to hello@byteable.ai. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act; we will honor them. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those laws define it. [Counsel to confirm this statement against the Apollo integration on byteable.ai.]
If you own a website that someone else scanned, the scan only read public files. You can ask us to delete the scan records for your domain.
Children
This site is for businesses. It is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes and contact
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. Material changes will be noted on this page.
